The editorial I chose to post comes from the San Antonio Express-News. It was published February 2. The editorial discusses the need for the Texas legislature to focus on college tuition rates during the current legislative session.
I liked that the author used a lot of background information to support his/her points about freezing tution rates. Just incase the link does not work, the URL is posted below.

It was a well-researched editorial. Do you think it was an effective argument?
ReplyDeleteI think the argument was effective because the background information provided great support for it. The author seemed to give information about tuition in Texas then make his/her point.
ReplyDeleteAlso, attribution provided for some of the information made that part of the editorial stronger. For example, when the author mentioned that tutition and fees increased 53 percent at public universities he/she attributed that to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
In all, background and attribution provided strength to the author's argument.
